When Brittany, my 1st grandchild came into my life 20 years ago that was the happiest day in my life. Today however, is the saddest day for I will never again be able to hug and kiss my beautiful and extraordinary little Brittany who was the JOY of my life.

Yes, I call her extraordinary because she was. Anyone knowing Brittany knew she excelled in everything and grass never grew beneath her feet. She was always on the go earning the unconditional love of her horses and dogs who were the brothers and sisters she never had. While she sometimes seemed aloof, she was not that way at all. Once your trust was earned, you soon were privileged to enjoy her humorous nature, upbeat spirit and especially her unconditional friendship that could be counted upon 24/7. Simply put, she was the best friend anyone could have.

I believe the presence of everyone here today sharing our loss is the final testimony of my granddaughter Brittany's short life. I know she has impacted all our lives and her memory will carry on forever.

Speaking on behalf of my Brittany I would like to share the words I believe she would say to her Mom and everyone else that loved her unconditionally.

Please don't weep for me,
for I am now free and have a date
to go riding on to greener pastures.
With the wind in my face
I'll be dancing on a cloud and
singing in the sunshine,
wild and free,
while waiting for thee.

Till we meet
